Trauma changes everything.

So should support.

TandemStride is a trauma recovery platform that bridges the critical gap between hospital discharge and daily life.

Survivors often leave the hospital facing complex challenges—navigating follow-up care, mental health, insurance coverage, transportation, housing, childcare, food security, and more—without the support needed.

Our platform connects survivors and their loved ones with trained peer mentors, resource navigators, and licensed clinicians who understand trauma recovery, for rapid access to care.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make trauma recovery more connected, more accessible, and more human.

We partner with survivors, families, and care teams to remove barriers—social, emotional, and practical—so that no one has to navigate healing alone.

Our Story

TandemStride was born from lived experience. When founder Matt Kalina’s brother, Mark, became a bilateral amputee after a pedestrian-train accident in college, Matt witnessed firsthand the power of connection in recovery.

Mark’s resilience was powerful. Just as powerful was the strength, perspective, and compassion of other trauma survivors who rallied around to support him.

That collective community inspired a vision: to make integrated recovery accessible to every survivor and family navigating life after injury.

Our Belief

Recovery is deeply personal—but it shouldn’t happen alone. Every step, every setback, and every small win matters. With meaningful connection and practical support, we’re here to help survivors move forward with strength and dignity.

We’d love to hear from you.
